The Nazis killed the Communists before they killed anyone else. The Weimar Republic was not an ally of Nazis. The connections this man makes between Nazism and the Left make no sense. His logic is frighteningly arbitrary.
Beck is simply trying to deflect the connections people will be making between his hateful rants and the Holocaust Museum murder.

While Hitler was not a “conservative” in the strictest sense, it was an alliance of conservative parties that enabled and allowed Hitler to come to power. The conservative elites (Junkers, capitalists, etc.) banded together against socialists and social democrats and felt that Hitler was a weapon they could use against socialists. Hence the vicious street fights between the socialists and the brown-shirt National Socialists. He was their pitbull.
